Cream Syphons ISI or Mosa
Can anyone tell me what would be the MINIMUM amount of liquid that could be put into a 0.5 or 1.0 Ltr. syphon (cream whipper) The instructons always refer to the maximum.  This will determine what size to purchase.
Thank You

What's the application you'll be purchasing this for? Sounds like you have something specific in mind.

I want to use the syphon for making everything EXCEPT whip cream, such as espumas,
sauces, flavoured and infused oils and alcohol, soups and other foams.  I would also like to experiment with smoke flavoured oils since I am a serious BBQ'R

It really depends on the final application. For flavor infusions, you'll need enough liquid to cover water ever you are infusing. For foams, you'll generally need to fill the ISI at least half full to get good results, but I prefer to fill mine all the way. If you're just experimenting and making a few servings at a time for the foreseeable future, I would recommend the .5 liter. If you're in a professional environment and will be making more then a few servings at a time, I would go with the 1 liter.
